A Lifetime with Rube’s​​

Growing up in Montour, Iowa, Deann’s journey with Rube’s started early. At 14 years old, she took her first job working for Rube’s founder, Glen Rubenbauer, washing dishes. Over the years, she worked her way up—host, bartender, and now COO—playing a key role in shaping the restaurant’s legacy.

​

After high school, Deann attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning a double major in Elementary Education and Health Education. Her path took her to Boston for student teaching, but life soon brought her back home to Iowa. In 2002, pregnant with her second child, she returned to Rube’s—and she’s been an integral part of the team ever since.

​

Now, alongside owners Matt and Michele Anderson, Deann helps lead Rube’s with the same passion and commitment that’s defined her career.
